SENIOR CENTER NEWS

WATONGA - Hi everybody! Well, I think summer has officially arrived and plans to stay, my goodness, the heat has been awful. By afternoon even in the shade you can hardly breathe. I feel for all those folks that have to work outside daily. I just stay indoors. All right ladies! Get out those poodle skirts, can-cans , saddle oxfords and penny loafers and mark your calendars for august 7th. Were having a sock hop!! It will be at the city hall building from 6 to 10 Pm. There will be a live band and we plan on having a lot of fun! Make plans to join us. More details later. In the meantime, well be meeting at the center this Saturday night, June 26th, from 6 to 9 pm for music and games. Come on in and join in the fun. Bring a snack of some kind. We’ll have a good time. Here are the ones that came in to quilt this week. Jennie Castleberry, Gene Mali, Naida Kerr, and Estalene Teply. I hope I didn’t miss anyone. We are so thankful for all those that volunteer to carry out our meals on wheels dinners. And I know that they are very much appreciated by those that receive the meals. Last week’s volunteers were Susan Shrader, and D’Von Poulson, Mary Brown and Karen Duggar, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. Thanks to all of you for your help. Donations toward the cost of the sock and hop came from Tim and Judy Curtin, Janice Hood, Larry and Naida Kerr, Freda Hausner and Jim and Mae Thompson. These donations are all appreciated! Mary may gave a donation in memory of Virgil George. Thank you Mary.
