WATONGA — Watonga Lanes announced last Tuesday that it will be closed for several weekends after a burst water pipe leaked thousands of gallons into the alley and under the bowling lanes.
On Facebook, the manager Devon Richardson told the Watonga Republican that the pipe burst on Friday, July 2 about 11 a.m. They found the leak about 2:20 p.m. that day.
Watonga Light & Water told the alley that about 3,300 gallons of water had leaked in the bust. “I cannot turn on any equipment until my lane mechanic can be here,” Richardson said, “and unfortunately he is not able to for 2 weeks.”
The lane mechanic will be able to assess the damage and recommend repairs. “It is just a waiting game at this point,” Richardson said.
In the meantime, the lanes are running dehumidifiers in the space to lower the humidity. The business owners will have more information in “a few weeks,” they said.
