Letter from the Geary Public Library

Hello Readers!

Monday’s Summer Reading program was so much fun! We had Extreme Animals bring some exotic animals to show. There was a Banana Python, he was about 8 feet long. A cute baby Lemur clinging to a teddy bear, a teenage Otter named Ariel, a baby Kanga Roo, a baby Alligator, and a Tortoise. The kids were allowed to touch and interact with all the animals there and were surprised at some of the textures of the skin and fur of the animals. They taught us about the places these animals live and how the oceans tie in with them. Don’t forget we have Zoo passes too!

The 3 prize winners were, Penelope Cain, Hannah Davis, and Khloe Lewis, Congrats!

Mark your calendars for Monday June 13. We will be down at the city park with an awesome water fun event for kids of all ages. Jump & Splash will be an obstacle course and water slide, along with a toddler slash pad for the little ones. Parents don’t forget the sunscreen, towels for the kids and maybe a lawn chair so you can enjoy the day too. The program starts at 2 and we need to go over some rules for safety of the kids before we start. There will also be three prizes for this program that will be given away in a drawing at 4, so stay for the fun and a chance to win a prize.
