Hi, everybody! I hope you’ve all had a good week. The rain we got Saturday night was really nice. Not enough, but we’ll take what we can get and not complain.
We had several donations last week. Joyce Rogers brought in Best Choice labels and okra; Virginia Nicks brought in squash; and Sandra Maddux and Mary Mangold brought in Best Choice labels. Thank you all very, very much for thinking of us.
I don’t know how many were in on Thursday to quilt, but they are making good progress on the quilt. They’ll be back next Thursday to do some more.
We only had four days of delivered meals last week since we were closed on Monday for Labor Day. It was Sharon Barnes, Janice Hood, Brenda and Curt Stein and Vernon Brickman that delivered for us. Thanks to all of you.
Saturday night we had a good group come in. We had 29 present for games and music. We had a great time and some really good food. We’ll meet again at 6 p.m. on Sept. 24. Bring a dish to share, it is potluck style.
I don’t know if the nurses are scheduled to come Friday, Sept. 16, for blood sugar and blood pressure check. It is their usual day to come. Give us a call at 623-4511 to see if they are coming.
Here is our menu for the next several days. Call us before 10 a.m. for meals to be delivered. Call before noon for meals to go.
Thursday (9-15) Ham and beans Friday – Fried chicken Monday – Vegetable soup and chili Tuesday – chicken strips Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m. Thursday (9-22) Goulash Friday – Ham and sweet potatoes On Thursday mornings starting at 8 a.m. we have biscuits and gravy. Come in and join us or call for some to go. The price is by donation.
I’m afraid that’s all the news for this week, there’s just not much happening at the Center right now.
I hope you are all doing well. Take care of yourselves and stay well. ‘Til next week …
