EWS
Hi everyone! I hope your week was good. This last week was a good one for me, no doctor’s appointments. But I’m starting this week with a visit to the periodontist. That’s not fun. Oh, well.
I had a chance to work at the center last Friday. It was a good day. There were people who came in for exercise class and it was really good to see them all.
Then two ladies came from the hospital to check blood pressures and blood sugars. Ten people had theirs checked. We’re so glad to have these ladies to come once a month to do this for us.
Last Thursday there were only two people that came in to work on the quilt, Judy Curtin and Connie Burcham. It is Connie’s quilt in the frame and she wanted to put a few stitches in it. They are almost done with it so if you have a quilt ready to be quilted, give us a call. I don’t know if they have one to put in next or not. It could be yours.
Our meal deliverers last week were our regulars, Pat, Sharon, Brenda and Curt, Janice and Vernon. Thank you for helping us with this project.
Margie Smith brought us some cans and Joyce Rogers brought in Best Choice labels. Thanks to both of you for think ing of us.
Mae and Jim Thompson made a donation to the center. Thank you Mae and Jim. We also received more memorial donations. The Cheyenne Quilt Guild donated in memory of Beth Massey’s son Michael. Glen and Barbara Sinclair made a donation in memory of Wanda Sinclair and Yvonne Christen donated in memory of Roberta House. Thank you all so much for these wonderful gifts.
We’ll be getting together at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 for games, music and food. We usually go until 9 p.m. Come by and join the fun with us. Please bring some kind of snack to share.
Here’s our menu for the next few days. Look it over and decide when you’d like a meal delivered or a pick up ready for you. Maybe you want to join us for a meal. Please call before 10 a.m. for deliveries or before noon to pick one up. Our number is 623-4511.
Thursday Jan. 26 – Chicken casserole Friday – Roast beef followed by Bingo and cards Monday – Chili and soup Tuesday – Chicken fried steak Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.
Thursday – Feb. 2 – Turkey pot pie Friday – Indian tacos And don’t forget we have biscuits and gravy ready at 8 a.m. each Thursday. We just ask for a donation for this food.
I forgot to mention on Friday we had enough people to stay after lunch to have two tables of card players. They had a good time. I think they played before lunch also. We do this each Friday. Come in and join them for some fun.
That’s about all the news I have for this week. Take care of yourselves, stay safe, warm and well. ‘Til next week…
