Hi, everybody! I hope your past week was a good one. I hope you didn’t have any damage from those high winds. It blew down three sections of our fence in the back but John put it back up. The wind and dust was really terrible. And it sure set off my allergies. Even without the dust the wind still affects my allergies. I almost need a bucket under my nose it runs so much after I’ve been outdoors just getting into the car. Oh, well, that’s spring in Oklahoma.
Someone left a jacket at the center after the Mason’s Sunday lunch last week. I think it’s a lady’s coat. It is black, gray and white plaid, double breasted, Wildflower brand, size XL. If you’re missing one, we’ve got it. Come by and pick it up when you can.
Karen Biers is trying to get a defensive driving course arranged. This may help on your insurance. I know laws change and we do tend to forget some of the rules of driving. This class will be held at the Senior Citizens Center and it will be a one day class. Depending on the number in the class, the cost will be $15-20 per person. A date has not been set yet. We are trying to see if enough people will be interested. If you would like to attend let us know so we can get your name on the list.
Last week Pat Brewer carried the meals on wheels two days for us. On the other days it was Sharon Barnes, Brenda and Curt Stein and Janice Hood. Thank you all for doing this for us.
Karen Biers, Patty Clift, and Bill and Prissy Ice have joined our group. Patty is new but Bill, Karen and Prissy renewed their memberships. We’re really glad to have them all. We’d like to welcome you too. Dues are only $15 per year. Anyone over 55 is welcome to join.
Saturday, April 8, we’ll be meeting again for music, games and food. Feel free to come in and join us. We meet from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. You don’t have to be a member to join in the fun. Bring in some kind of food to share. We’ll eat at 7. You’ll enjoy yourself.
Well, we got some bad news last week. Termites have been found in the north wall. Terminix is going to be treating it for us and as you know, it’s not cheap. If you feel like helping us with this project we would sure appreciate any help we receive. We just don’t have enough coming in for this kind of surprise expense. But we’ll make it.
This is our menu for the next several days. Call us before 10 a.m. for a meal to be delivered or call us before noon if you want to pick one up to go.
