Marie Alice Whitebird-Whiteman was born September 1, 1934 in Watonga, Oklahoma to Mollie Curtis and Dawes Whitebird. She attended Chilacco Indian School and received her diploma from Watonga High School in 1953. Her 31 year nursing career ended in 1989 when the Blaine County Health Department was established.
