4H Achievements Recognized

The annual Blaine County 4-H Achievement Program was held on Sunday, August 27 at the fairgrounds in Watonga.

Project medals were presented to the following: From Canton: Macie Clark- Performing Arts and Dogs and Maggie Clark- Performing Arts.

From Okeene: Logan Chance- Family Life, Avery Fisher- Breads and Public Speaking, Emery Fisher- Fashion Revue and Foods & Nutrition, Jack Luckie- Wood Science, Reiley Luckie-Agriculture, Grant Robison- Food Science, Baylea Robison- Plant Science, Taylor Robison-Beef and Cooking, and Jayce Schultz- Rocketry and STEM.

From Watonga: Brant Cowan- Veterinary Science and Plant Science, Brayden Cowan-Healthy Living and Engines, Tractors & Field Equipment, Cord Cowan-Swine and Beef, Keela Cowan- Cats and Clothing & Textiles, Kinze Cowan- Arts & Crafts and Gardening & Horticulture, Caleigh Scheihing- Community Service and Engines, Tractors & Field Equipment, and Grady Scheihing- Agriculture and Judging.

Each of these members also received the following awards: Canton Macie Clark- County Recordbook Award, Farm Bureau Award, Goat Award; Maggie Clark- County Recordbook Award, Farm Bureau Award Okeene Logan Chance- County Recordbook Award, Sheep Production Award, Child Care Award; Jack Luckie- County Recordbook Award, Danny Halverson Woodworking Award, Farm Bureau Award; Reiley Luckie- County Recordbook Award, CWF trip alternate delegate, Field Crops Award, Outdoor Life, Agriculture Award; Avery Fisher-County Recordbook Award, CWF trip delegate, Peach Meier Clothing Award, Farm Bureau Award, Danforth Award, State 4-H Recordbook Recognition Emery Fisher- County Recordbook Award, Wisdom Grain Marketing Award, Clewell’s Family Hardware Award, Jr. Key Award, American Farmers & Ranchers Award; Grant Robison-County Recordbook Award, Beef Production Award, Outdoor Life Award, Health & Wellness Award; Baylea Robison- County Recordbook Award, Jr. Field Crops Awards Taylor Robison-County Recordbook Award, First Year Recordbook Award, Food-Nutrition Award, Health & Wellness Award; Jayce Schultz-County Recordbook Award, Goat Award, Child Care Award Watonga Brant Cowan-County Recordbook Award, Jr. Key Award; Brayden Cowan- County Recordbook Award, Farm Bureau Award, Danforth Award; Cord Cowan-County Recordbook Award, Swine Production Award; Kinze Cowan- County Recordbook Award, Citizenship Award; Keela Cowan- County Recordbook Award, Peach Meier Clothing Award; Caleigh Scheihing- County Recordbook Award, Farm Bureau Award, Citizenship Award; Grady Scheihing- County Recordbook Award, Beef Production Award, Agriculture Award; Avery Fisher also received the County Hall of Fame Award, which is the highest honor to receive at the county level. Her portrait, as previous winners of this award have as well, will hang in the county courthouse for this next year, Avery also serves as a State 4-H Ambassador and in that role, she spoke at the achievement program about opportunities in 4-H.

In addition, organizational club leaders were recognized for their efforts with the 4-H program. They were Alison Clark- Canton 4-H Club, Tara Fisher, Alicia Robison, and Mandy Spaeth- Okeene 4-H Club, and Tara Cowan and Katie Scheihing-Watonga 4-H Club.

The 2023-2024 Blaine County 4-H Officers were also installed. Those members are President-Avery Fisher, Vice President- Keela Cowan, Secretary- Jayce Schultz, Co-Treasurers- Reiley Luckie and Grant Robison, Co-Reporters-Kinze Cowan and Caleigh Scheihing, Co-Parliamentarians- Jack Luckie and Maggie Clark, Recreational Leaders-Macie Clark, Brant Cowan, Logan Chance, and Baylea Robison.
