SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi, everyone. It’s been a great week and I hope you’re all doing well.

I’m having quite a time with my health and I’m seeing a new doctor this week. Getting old has finally caught up with me. Thankfully my husband is right there with me to help me through it. He’s been terrific.

We had a lot of donations of all kinds last week. Elaine Greer donated carrots and pudding mix. Gene Matli donated Best Choice labels and homemade noodles. Martha White donated pecans. Mae and Jim Thompson and the Saturday night group donated monetarily. Connie Geroge donated in memory of Jean Seitter, Gene McCall, Don Chandler and Louise Hood. Yvonne Christensen donated in memory of Gene McCall and Eloise Espy donated in memory of Jack Howard. Thanks to all of you for your donations that help us out and thank you for remembering those folks who have passed away. It is all appreciated.

Sharon Barnes and Mae and Jim Thompson all renewed their memberships. Thank you guys for sticking with us.

Quilters last week were Louise Cooper, Judy Curtin and Estalene Teply. They could sure use some help if you like to quilt. If you have never quilted they can sure show you how.

Delivering meals last week were Vernon Brickman, Janice Hood, Brenda and Curt Stein on two days and Sharon Barnes two days. Thak you to all of you for your help at the center.

Well, I’m told that plans are being made for the annual chicken noodle dinner and cake auction. It is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 5. This is always a major fundraiser for us so please plan to come and eat chicken noodles and all the trimmings. It is always very good. If you would like to donate a cake for the auction it would surely be appreciated. Just let them know at the center.

I was told that the quilt hanging at the center was won by Louis Hood several years ago at a commissioners meeting. Apparently there was a raffle.

Now it hangs at the center thanks to his wife Janice Hood. It’s a beautiful quilt, you should come by and see it.

If you need an early breakfast on Thursday, come by starting at 8 a.m. for biscuits and gravy. Get one to go or stop in and eat with us. We only ask for a donation.

If you’re hungry, check out our menu for the next few days. We have some good things coming up. Call before noon if you plan to get a meal to go and before 10 a.m. if you need a meal delivered. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for the chicken noodle meal April 5.
