Hi, everyone! I you had a great Mothers’ Day in spite of the rain. It started while we were in church but I had a husband with an umbrella waiting for me.
We went to my daughter’s for lunch. She fixed a nice lunch, even sent food home with us so I had a nice supper.
I had a call from my granddaughter this afternoon. She is expecting a baby and is past her due date so they are inducing this evening. We’ll be going to Norman Regional Hospital to see her and the baby. It will be our first great-grandchild.
Our Saturday night group met last weekend. We had 22 people come. David played music for us. We had lots of good food. We’ll meet again on May 25. We may not have as many then as there are plans for the Watonga alumni at various functions.
Our quilters, Estalene, Judy and Louise finished the quilt they had been working on. It is a really pretty quilt top.
The quilt guild will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 20. They have a really nice group that meets to help members with their quilting.
Just a reminder that the center will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 27.
Delivering meals on wheels for us last week were Susan Shrader, Connie George, Vernon Brickman, Sharon Barnes on two days and Janice Hood. Thank you all for your help. We couldn’t do the program without you.
If you get a chance to come by the center take notice of our improvements. Two new metal ‘City of Watonga’ benches are out front. There is also a new awning over the back door entrance. It is all part of the beautification grant from the city.
Watonga Christian Church and Eloise Espy donated last week in memory of Jim Sinclair. Thank you both.
Karen Biers renewed her membership. That’s great since she is our director for this year and she is doing a great job.
Here is our menu for the next few days. Call us before 10 a.m. if you want a meal delivered. If you want one to go, call us before 12:30.
