SENIOR CENTER NEWS

EWS

Hi, everyone! I hope you are all doing good. I’m getting better each day. Today was the first day my brain didn’t feel foggy. Saturday the 6th will be one month since my surgery. It seems like it’s been longer but that’s what the calendar shows.

Have you bought fireworks yet? There’s plenty of stands around here and there’s lots of places to go and watch them on the 4th. I hope you have an enjoyable 4th.

I want to say thanks to Karen Cook for the squash she donated. We always enjoy fresh vegetables.

Judy Curtin renewed her membership, thanks Judy. She and Louise Cooper finished the quilt they’ve been working on. They took it out of the frame so now they are in need of another quilt to work on. If you have one that needs to be quilted, bring it on down. They really do nice work.

Estalene Teply helps them with quilting, too.

We have another volunteer to help deliver meals on wheels, Terri Crawford. We appreciate her offer to help. Thank you, Terri.

Last week Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Brenda Stein, Terri Crawford, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman delivered meals.

If you need a meal delivered call us before 10 a.m. If you want one to pick up, call us before 12:30 p.m.

Here is our menu for the next few days. Menus are subject to change: Thursday, July 4 – Closed for Independence Day Friday – Chicken salad sandwiches Monday – Soup and chili Tuesday – Baked potatoes Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday July 11 – Steak fingers Friday – Indian tacos Saturday July 13 will be our next game night. Bring a covered dish to share and come join us. Tom and David play music for us.

Well, that’s about it for this week. Try to stay inside where it’s usually cooler. Take care of yourselves.

Don’t forget, we have exercise class at 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It will be cool in the center. And there’s always a puzzle to work on if you enjoy that.

Take care. Stay in where it’s cool if you can. ‘Til next week …
