Dr. Cooper Hicks grew up on a small family farm just south of Geary. This is where his passion for working with animals large and small began. His dream of becoming a veterinarian started when he was very young, as he spent hours working with his grandfather in his mixed animal practice. Dr. Hicks’ journey towards becoming a veterinarian ran through Geary Public Schools, where he was very active in 4-H and FFA, along with other clubs and leadership activities. He participated in ag mechanics, speech, livestock judging and exhibitions including pigs, sheep and goats. He graduated high school in May of 2017 and that fall started college at Oklahoma State University. Hicks graduated with his bachelor’s degree in animal science in May of 2020 and used the next four years to complete his doctorate degree of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University, as well, in the spring of 2024.Dr. Hicks is not only a veterinarian. he is also a producer. He has a small commercial beef cattle herd and a show goat herd. Hicks continues to be a big supporter of 4-H and FFA to this day and credits those organizations with creating his agricultural foundation. In Hicks' free time, he is likely to be enjoying the outdoors, where he is an avid hunter that enjoys fishing and tending to livestock.
