Diaz Drives in Four, Leads Eagles Past Tipton

Zac Diaz drove in four runs Thursday on three hits to lead The Eagles past Tipton 15-3. Diaz singled in the second inning, scoring two, singled again in the second scoring one, and doubled in the third scoring one.

Watonga won thanks in part to 11 runs in the second inning. Diaz singled, scoring one run, a dropped third strike scored one run. Wade Manke singled, scoring two runs, Karston Allen was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Cole Allen singled, scoring one run, Diaz singled, scoring two runs, Cooper House singled, scoring two runs, and KJ Estep singled, scoring one run.

Tipton opened the scoring in the first after an error scored two runs. The Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a walk by Manke, and a passed ball. Watonga added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Allen singled to left field, and Diaz doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Parker Roberts earned the win for Watonga. The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one. #12 opened the game for Tipton. The hurler surrendered zero hits and two runs (one earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking four.

Watonga piled up 10 hits in the game. Allen collected two hits in two at bats. Watonga turned one double play in the game. #8 provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Tipton with two runs batted in. #12, #20, and #15 each collected one hit for Tipton.
