Beloved wife, momma, grandma, sister, aunt & friend: Barbra Sue Black was born to Lloyd & Clariece Roof on April 22, 1947 in Thomas, OK and passed away on November 25, 2022 at her home in Oakwood, OK.

Barbra grew up in the Thomas and Custer City areas. She graduated from Custer City School in 1965.

Following high school, she went to beauty collegeandbecameabeautician. Sheworked for a few years at a beauty shop in Custer City. Though she left the beauty shop, she never stopped being a beautician, always cutting hair for family and friends when asked – there was even an occasional perm given.

On March 1, 1975, Barbra married Harold BlackinEnid,OK. Theymadetheirhomeand raised their family in Oakwood OK.

Barbra was an excellent cook, seamstress and quilter.Shesharedlovethroughfood. Atlarge family gatherings, she wanted each person to have one of their favorite foods, and in her family, thatmadeforquiteafeast. Shewasoneof the best at taking scraps of fabric that most people would discard and creating beautiful quilts.

While a member of the Jaycee Jaynes in Oakwood, she used her gift of quilting and assisted in the making of community friendship quilts that became fundraising projects.

Barbra was proud to call herself a housewife. In addition to the responsibilities of that job, she helped with the bookkeeping at Oakwood Wrecker Service, and spent time working outside the home as a cook, waitress, catering assistant andconveniencestoreclerk. Forafew years, she operated a daycare from their home.

Barbralivedafulllife. Inadditiontocooking, sewing and quilting, she enjoyed many other activities: RV trips around the country, one RV winter in South Texas, dancing, camping at different lakes, boating, fishing, family reunions, karaoke, crossword puzzles, gardening & canning, attending her kids’ and grandkids’ activities, reading, games and cards.

Barbra loved her family and friends with all her heart. She greeted people with a kind smile andahug. Shewentoutofherwaytomakeall people feel welcome in her presence and in her home. Shewillbegreatlymissedbyallwho knew her.

Barbra was preceded in death by her parents, Harold’s parents George & Ruie Black, two brothers Gene McFarland, Warren Roof; two sisters Grace Preston, Donnie Yoder, and one grandson Randy Black.

Barbra is survived by her husband Harold of the home, five sons John Black (Barbie) of Harold, FL; Patrick Black of Oklahoma City, OK; Daniel Black (Tracey) of Cantonment, FL; Benny Black of the home in Oakwood; and Justin Black (Jennifer) of Burlington, NC; two daughters Delyn Cronk (Trent) of Laverne, OK and Amanda Black of Watonga, OK; numerous grandchildrenandgreat-grandchildren. Sheis also survived by two sisters Betty Wilson and Doris Fisher; one brother Richard McFarland, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held for Barbra on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watonga Christian Church with Pastor Adam Lovitt officiating and Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
