Chester Timothy Curtin left this earth to spend eternity with his Heavenly Father December 31, 2021. Tim was born September 18, 1944 and grew up in Watonga only leaving home to go to college at OSU. When his dad passed away, he came back home to run the Watonga Republican newspaper and finished college at Southwestern.

He owned and operated other newspapers in the area until he retired in 2010 when he found he had Multiple Myeloma. He was active in various state and local organizations throughout his lifetime: Kiwanis, Board of Health of Blaine County, Senior Citizens Club, Masons, American Legion, Oklahoma Board of Prisons, Watonga Historical Society Touring Group, National Guard, and Sigma Chi. He enjoyed attending Bible Study at First Baptist Church.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald “Cowboy” and Dr. Virginia Curtin; sister, Charlotte; twin sons at birth; and wife, Norita Curtin. He leaves behind a devoted wife, Judy; son, Ward Timothy Curtin of OKC,OK; daughters, Trisha Cochlin of Edmond, OK, and Carrie Todd of Ft. Worth, TX; sister, Kristin (Don) Temple of Drumwright, OK, step-sons, Mark Roggy of Kansas City, MO, and David Roggy of Iowa City, IA; cousins, Russell (Marjorie) Burbank of Carefree, AZ, Suzie (Ray) Wasniak of New Paris, OH, John (Jane) Curtin of Vancouver, WA, and Margaret Ellen (Don) Tassin of Sugarland, TX; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 1PM, Friday, January 7, 2022, First Baptist Church, 301 N. Noble, Watonga, OK. Interment to follow at Watonga IOOF Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made in Tim’s
