Clayton Eugene Dorris, 60, of Bridge Creek, died August 29, 2021, in Norman. The son of Clayton “MC” Ivan Dorris and Mildred Pearl (Pakerson), he was born April 18, 1961 in Oklahoma City.

He grew up in Caddo County working on farms in the area. He attended school at Lookeba-Sickles School until 9th grade. After leaving school he continued to work in agriculture and went on to work a variety of jobs including security and mechanical work. He would later complete his GED.

In July 1983, he met Tamera Lynette Pittenger in Binger, Oklahoma. The two quickly fell in love and were married and moved to Oklahoma City in November of that year. On September 4, 1984, a son Clayton Edward was born in Oklahoma City. On July 21, 1986, a daughter, Cynthia Elaine was born in Oklahoma City.

In 1988, the family relocated to Bridge Creek. That same year Clayton began working at ABM Automation. During his 33 years with ABM, he became a highly skilled service technician and gained a reputation as the go-to-guy for solving complex and challenging problems. He would excitedly share stories about “finally getting that stupid machine running” with a hint of fake frustration as an attempt to mask the deep pride and joy he took from his work.

In 1991, a daughter, Carrie Elizabeth was born in Oklahoma City. It was this same year the family moved into a new house that Clayton got in one of his signature great deals.

Clayton was an avid outdoorsman with a number of bass, bucks, and other game trophies adorning his home. Among those was the record bass he caught at McGee Creek Lake in 2007. He enjoyed buying, selling, and trading everything from tools to sports equipment to vehicles and was always able to make a great deal. He would give you the shirt off his back, tell you it was no big deal, and laugh about how he got it for “dirt cheap” and had a few extra at home if you needed another. He loved smoking meats, cooking biscuits, and making peanut brittle to share with his friends and family. More than anything he enjoyed being with people and spent much of his free time helping people work on everything from cars to four wheelers to houses. Clayton found pure joy in being around those he loved. And he loved a great many people.

Clayton was preceded in death by his father, his sister Debbie Hefron, and his sister Denitta Hefron.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tamera, of the home; two daughters, Cynthia Maddox and her husband, Joe, of Newalla; Carrie Dorris and her husband, Chris, of the home; one son, Clayton Dorris and his finaceé, Carolina, of Ensenada, Mexico; three grandchildren, Ryan Yount, Elizabeth Dorris, and Layla Maddox; two sisters, Cathy Allen and her husband, Mike, of Geary, Oklahoma and Violet Pinon of Texas; two brothers, Richard Threlked and his wife Marilyn of Binger, Oklahoma and his twin brother Bo Johnson and girlfriend Trish of Geary; and many other loved ones and friends.
