Donita Kay Ellison of Eagle City, OK left this world too soon on December 12th, 2020. Donita was born August 1st, 1958 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Kelly and Berna Dean Nordquist. Donita was a teenager when she found the love of her life, Michael. They wed September 3rd, 1976 and were married for 44 years. They raised two daughters together and went on to have five grandchildren. Donita spent the first 3 years of her life in Fay,

Donita spent the first 3 years of her life in Fay, Oklahoma, until the family moved to Eagle City. She attended school at Fay until the 5th grade. She then spent the rest of her school life at Canton, except for one year in Lomega. She graduated from Canton High School in 1976. She attended SWOSU for a short time before starting her career at Watonga State Bank. Donita later returned to work at Watonga Light & Water for a while. She also worked side by side with her parents on the family farm. She became a founding member of the SECCC, where she played in many rounds of golf and horseshoe competitions.

Donita’s family was the foundation on which she based her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma. She and Michael loved hosting their family gatherings. She was the oldest of five children, and was lovingly referred to as the “boss”. She was fierce, focused, and determined; some may even say stubborn. Donita was so endeared by her family that she went by many names: “Mom”, “Sister”, “Aunt Doni”, “Nita Kay”, but her favorite name was “Grandma Doni”. There wasn’t a role in which she didn’t shine.

Donita is survived by her loving husband Michael Ellison and daughters, Stephanie and Shawn Price and Mika and Brian Melton; her grandchildren Mavrick, McKinley, and Polly Price and Kinadee & Kindell Melton; her mother Berna Dean Nordquist; her siblings Denice and Darren Green, Michael and Lisa Nordquist, and LuCinda & Tony Rodgers; her brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Betty Lance; her nieces and nephews Shasta, Robert, and Kaydince Folsom, Dakota Green, Lindsay and Easton Rodgers, Libby and Carlos Arriaga, Terry Weed, James Martin, Gary Pfaff, Sherry and Cletus Ast., Janese and Dan Glover, Chris and Rhonda Lance, Candi and Jason Busby, Debbie and Jay Marsh; her aunts and uncles Deanna & Terry Green, Keith & Judy Stinson, Brenda & Farrol Boyd, and numerous other family members.

She was preceded in death by her father William Kelly Nordquist, her brother William Jeffery Nordquist, her nephew Rilley Dean Nordquist, and her niece Callie Logan Rodgers, her grandparents Bill & Eula Nordquist and Peal & Grandma DeeDee Stinson, her mother-in-law Mary Emmons, and sisters-in-law Mary Jo George and Jeannie Watt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.,

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Watonga Christian Church with Loyd Lance and Pastor Adam Lovitt officiating. Interment will follow at Eagle City Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, Oklahoma. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donita’s life.
