Eddie J. Lewis journey of life began October 6, 1965 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born to Kanzado R. Lewis and Jack Austin. Eddie sometimes called "Too Short" to childhood friends and later "Shorty Doo-Wop" attended Oklahoma City Public Schools. He graduated in 1983 from Classen High School.

On June 4, 2006, he married the "Love of his life" Jackie Johnson at Christ Gospel Church in Watonga, being a devoted and faithful member. They celebrated 31 years of marriage until his transition. In this relationship he was devoted to their children: Tasha, Amber and Brian.

Eddie loved cooking, barbecue, spending time with family and friends. He listened to old school music and gospel music songs. He owned his own restaurant, Short Eddie's House of Barbecue. He worked for Sonic Drive-In for 10 years, a roust-about for an oil company, Diamondback Correctional Facility for 17 years, USG, Canton Casino, and Lucky Star Casino for 4 years as a Security Guard in Watonga, where he was currently employed at the time of his death.

He enjoyed watching OU Football "Boomer Sooner" and being a Dallas Cowboy fan. Eddie was a lover of life and he "never met a stranger." He was loving, caring and had a servant's heart and even ministered to the nursing staff in the hospital.

On Monday, October 4, 2021, Eddie's earthly assignment came to end. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kanzado; stepdad, Clifford; grandparents, Jimmie and Helen Lewis; uncle, Jimmie Jr.; brother. Elton Lewis; and nephew, Keaunce Mustin.

He is survived by his wife Jackie Lewis; his children: Tasha, Farrow, Amber Drew (John), Brian Johnson (MaKenzie). and his grandchildren: Tyson. TaVarous, Jordan, Landon and Novalee; his siblings: David Lewis (Joyce) of Columbia, South Carolina; Jimmie Lewis (Luceta), Catherine Jackson (Samuel), Velvet Mustin, Kathrine "Punkin" Bizzell, and Godgiven brother, Kevin Stoner, and seven Godgiven grandchildren, "special" childhood friends and a host of nephews, nieces. cousins, relatives and friends.
