In Loving Memory...

Erick DeLayne Farley was born January 31, 1964 in Shawnee, OK to Joe L and Judy Lea (Austin) Farley. He passed away at the Hospice House in Oklahoma City on Sunday, July 9, 2023 in his recliner with his wife of 40 years, three children, parents, and dog Jake at his side. He was 59.

Erick graduated from El Reno High School. He married the love of his life, Danna Bailey, May 6, 1983 at Coleman Chapel Church in Calumet. He began working at Hal-Malone Ford, moved to Frontier Chevrolet, and eventually landed at Carter Chevrolet as a GM Certified Mechanic and Service Manager. He also maintained the family farm. He was a workaholic, a definite “Mr. Fix It”. He had a high standard and brilliant mind for his work. Erick would often rebuild parts instead of ordering new. He was a very gifted mechanic. He designed a wiring harness, then taught his daughters to assemble it. He traveled the U.S. repairing and installing them on Navy Black Ops Trucks. He also found a way to make the trucks run on jet fuel. He was truly gifted in his trade. He worked so Danna could stay home with the kids, but never missed any of their activities. He made sure they all had an education and were always taken care of in every way.

Erick enjoyed fishing, especially at Lake Texoma. He loved camping at Caney Creek and spent many summers there with his family. As his family grew and he became Gramps, he bought a bigger trailer so his grandkids could come. The grandkids call it 'Gramp's Caravan', a line of truck and trailer, boat, and jet skis rolling down the road. He enjoyed hunting, especially dove season. Smoking meat for holidays became a hobby. Even then he was critical of his work, often saying he didn't cook it right. But it was always the best! Most of all, he loved being with his kids and grandkids. Dad and Gramps are titles he wore proudly. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family. He was a member of Coleman Chapel Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Austin Tackett, grandparents, Joe and Jesse Farley, Solomon “Pone” and Vera Ned, and Robert and Ruth Austin, father-in-law, Frank Bailey and brother-in-law, Bryan Bailey.

Erick is survived by his wife, Danna Jeanette Farley of the home, Calumet, OK; twin daughters, DeLayna Jeanette Woodis and husband Mark of Cordell, Cristina Lea Maass and husband Chandler of Okarche, and his favorite son, Coleman Ray Farley of Calumet; grandchildren, Kemper, Erick’s namesake Maverick, McCoy, and Brady Woodis all of Cordell, and Chesni Maass of Okarche; his loving dog, Jake; parents, Joe and Judy Lea (Austin) Farley of El Reno; brother Tony Farley and wife Valorie of Mounds, OK; mother-in-law, Dianna Bailey and brother-in-law, Darrin Bailey both of Calumet; six nieces, four nephews, and many great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many friends.
