Jarius (Jerry) L. Gray was born on October 21, 1940, in Lookeba, OK, to Alvin Arton “Shorty” and Helen Irene (Bussell) Gray. He passed away on December 17, 2021, in El Reno, OK at the age of 81. Jerry graduated from Lookeba High School. He married Geneva Fisher on July 3, 1958, in Lookeba, OK. The couple moved to the OKC area when Jerry took a job with BF Goodrich as a salesman. They then moved back to Lookeba to fulfill his lifetime dream of being a farmer. He had his pilot’s license and loved to fly and look at his farmland. He farmed in the Lookeba-Sickles area until he retired in 1997. He and Geneva raised four boys, and he taught them to have a strong work ethic, and to be faithful in marriage and to the Lord. After retiring, Jerry continued to garden a handful of acres, and generously shared his bounty with friends and family. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and music. He was especially fond of gospel music. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents,

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Shorty and Helen Gray, sister-in-law Jamelia Gray, brother-in-law Bob Strang, father and mother-in-law O.R. and Edith Fisher.

Survivors Include: his wife, Geneva Gray of Lookeba, OK, his children, Doug Gray and wife Roberta of Elk City, OK, Terry Gray and wife Jamie of El Reno, OK, Scott Gray and wife Angie of Mustang, OK, and Todd Gray and wife Tawnja of El Reno, OK, his grandchildren, Jeremy Gray and wife Dezaree of Canute, OK, Joby Gray and wife Haley of Elk City, OK, Logan Gray of El Reno, OK, Sheridan Gray of El Reno, OK, Sydney Miner and husband Josh of OKC, OK, Andrea Purkey and husband Luke of Mustang, OK, Deanna Williams and husband Nick of Tuttle, OK, Jantzen Gray and wife Nicole of Yukon, OK, Jacoby Gray and wife Amy of Yukon, OK, and Jakenzee Nuzum and husband Dillon of OKC,OK, 15 great grandchildren and one on the way, his siblings, Ronald Gray of OKC,OK, Delores Gray of Mustang, OK, Carol Gray of Yukon, OK, Albert Gray and wife Kim of OKC,OK, and Donnie Gray and wife Adrian of Yukon, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank St. Katharine Drexel Assisted Living of El Reno, Director Kim Bowles, and her staff, and Russell-Murray Hospice of El Reno, Anna Wahweah, and the other staff members.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 22nd at 10:00 at New Covenant Church of Lookeba under the Direction of Turner Funeral Home. Pastor Jantzen Gray and Rev. David Brack officiating. Burial to follow at Lookeba Cemetery in Lookeba, OK.

In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to his grandson Jeremy Gray’s organization Path to Miracles, Inc., a Christ-based drug and rehab facility, 501 East Grand Ave, Sayre, OK or www.path2miracles.org
