In Loving Memory... Jean Louise (Lung) Seitter

Jean Louise (Lung) Seitter was born October 9, 1933, to Donald Emile and Iva Ruby (Smith) Lung in Arapaho, OK on the farm north of town. She passed away November 29, 2023, at home surrounded by family at the age of 90. Jean went to Oakwood schools and graduated in 1952. After graduation she went to Enid St. Mary’s Hospital to nurses training and was pinned with her RN cap and pin in 1955 after which she moved to Watonga and began working at the hospital. She was united in marriage to William Jasper (Bill) Seitter February 22, 1958, at Jean’s parents’ home in Oakwood, OK. She worked in all areas of health care during her nursing career. After retiring from nursing, Jean volunteered as a reading coach at the Geary Public Schools. She continued this until age and medical conditions between her and Bill became too much. Family was very important to Jean. She was a member of the Greenfield Baptist Church and attended regularly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years William Jasper (Bill) Seitter, parents, Donald Emile and Iva Ruby Lung, Chris Seitter, and Luella and George Strong, brother-in-law Dick Seitter, brother-in-law, Lee Underwood, two sisters-in-law, Ellen Lung and Doris Seitter, and Aunt Madeline Keathly.

Survivors include, her three children, Cheryl Diane McCrite and husband Mickey of Weatherford, Bill Seitter and wife Lisa of Watonga, and Mary McDugle and husband Kevin of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Sarah Hill of Greenfield, Rhett Hill and wife Chelse of Clinton, Koby Anderson and husband Eric of Norman, Lane Hicks and Tucker Hicks both of Geary; great grandchildren, Megan Luke and husband Billy of Duncan, Madeline Williams of Clinton, Marli Hill, Ryan Hill, Acre Foley, and Addison Foley all of Clinton, and Grayson and Rayden Anderson of Norman; great-great grandchildren, Ava and Billy Wallace Luke III of Duncan; and her sister Donna Underwood of Missouri; her brother Kenneth Lung and wife Cora of Missouri; her brother Curtis Lung of Kansas; and many other nieces and nephews; relatives and friends.
