In Loving Memory...

John Michael “Mike” Austin was born on August 24, 1950 in El Reno, OK to Clyde W. and Irene (Hart) Austin. Mike passed away on October 5, 2023 in Weatherford, OK at the age of 73. Mike grew up in Geary and was the song leader at the Geary Free Methodist Church over 45 years, from the age of 9 (1959-2004). Mike, Jr., and Clyde were all baptized at one time in 1955 in a horse tank at Geary Free Methodist Church. During his school years, he was a member of FFA and showed calves, and graduated from Geary High School in 1968. Mike worked at a wood company in Geary, then in early 1970s worked at 3-M as warehouseman until he retired in 2006. Mike has always enjoyed collecting classic tractors, owned 20 of them, enjoyed doing tractor pulls, and traveled all over Oklahoma with Farmalls to State and County Fairs, and participated in State Fair Tractor Parades. He liked to ride motorcycles and ride horses. He married Kathy Hiler on January 10, 1969, and they had 2 daughters; later he married Carolyn Phillips on September 3, 1983 and they had 1 daughter; their 40th Wedding Anniversary was in September. Mike’s grandchildren are his pride and joy and he loved attending all of their activities.

Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn Austin of Weatherford, OK, his daughters, Kari Ann Austin of OKC,OK; Shelly Lynn Stilwell and husband Jim of Yukon, OK; and Alicia Irene Austin and husband Christopher Scott of Clinton, OK; his grandchildren, Tyler Stilwell and wife Jourdan, Zacary Stilwell, Colton Scott, Matayah Scott, and Remington Scott, great grandchild, Campbell James Stilwell, his siblings, Patti Austin and husband Tim of Yukon, OK, Jr Austin and wife Linda of Geary, OK, and Connie Sharry of Geary, OK, special family member, Linda Jo Caldwell of Yukon, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Irene Austin, and his sister, Cindy Sharry.
