In Loving Memory... Loretta Ruth Hobson

Loretta Ruth (Kerr) Hobson was born on November 28, 1936 in Allen, OK to Quince Edward and Willie Edna (West) Kerr. Loretta passed away on March 30, 2024 in Calumet, OK at the age of 87. Loretta graduated from Hinton High School. She married Paul Dale Hobson on January 11, 1958 in Texas. They lived in El Reno and Loretta worked for the phone company, then later worked for a movie distribution company. The couple moved to Calumet where they did custom harvesting with Bert Phillips for many years. They raised their kids in Calumet and enjoyed attending all their activities. They owned and operated Hobson Hardware for many years as well. Loretta enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards with her siblings, games with her grandkids, painting, gardening, enjoyed writing and was a published poet. Loretta’s biggest joy was her grandkids and bragging on them whenever she could.

Survivors include: her children, Tim Hobson and wife Cecelia of El Reno, OK, Todd Hobson and wife Tricia of El Reno, OK, and Gini Houston and husband Brandon of the home Calumet, OK, her grandchildren, Talen Hobson and wife Ashley of OKC, Daniel Hobson and wife Callie of El Reno, OK, Megan Pina and husband Juan of Yukon, OK, Rachel Gatz and husband Trace of El Reno, OK, Ben Houston of El Reno, OK, Ashlee Houston of El Reno, OK, and Cade Houston of El Reno, OK, her great grandchildren, Carter and Parker Hobson, Isabelle and Leo Pina, and Ross Hobson, her siblings, Bud Kerr and his wife Velta of Hinton, OK, Lola Mashaney of Bridgeport, OK, and Treva Johnson of Hinton, OK, her sister-in-law, Anne Hobson of Shawnee, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Quince and Willie Edna Kerr, her husband, Paul Dale Hobson, her son, Chipper Dale Hobson, her siblings, Dortha Jared, Pearl Cox, Bob Kerr, Phillip Kerr, Bill Kerr, and Arvie Gerloff.
