Artie Doris Geeslin was born August 30, 1926 to Joseph Everett and Minnie (Thomas) Langley in Oakdale, TN. She passed away Thursday September 17, 2020 at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher, OK at the age of 94. Artie graduated from high school in Oakdale, TN and was visiting Oklahoma where she met Joe Geeslin. They were married September 14, 1947 at the Baptist Parsonage in Greenfield which is the same home where they lived and raised their girls. She worked at Garvey’s and Tyler’s Department Store in Watonga. Artie later served as postmaster in Greenfield for 27 years. Artie was a member of Eastern Star and was a longtime member of the Greenfield Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for a few years and served as church treasurer for 50 years. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Minnie Langley, husband, Joe Geeslin, three granddaughters, Jamie Hightower Young, Julie Baumgardner, and Tracey Wilkinson, son-in-law, James Hightower, and three siblings, Juanita Pierce, Jean Bowman, and Arnold Langley.

Artie is survived by three daughters, Carol Ramer and husband Dick of Watonga, Ann Morgan and husband Joe of Mountain View, AR, and Kathy Dillard and husband Moe of Loyal; six grandchildren, Todd Hightower and wife Toni of Watonga, Steve Morgan and wife Rosie of Baltimore, MD, Josh Morgan and wife Jessica of McKinney, TX, Jason Payne and wife Jamie of Watonga, Michael Dillard of Loyal, and Keith Dillard of Kingfisher; thirteen great grandchildren, Colten Hightower and wife Sheena of Watonga, Della Morgan of Baltimore, MD, Elijah Wilkinson of Ben Wheeler, TX, Gabriel Morgan and Isaac Morgan both of Houston, TX, Melody Morgan of McKinney, TX, Kelcey Baumgardner of Hobbs, NM, Kalli Baumgardner of Fairview, Kloe Baumgardner of Hobbs, NM, Allyson, Abby, and Jaden Payne all of Watonga, and Brady Dillard of Glenpool; two great-great grandchildren, James and Jesse Hightower both of Watonga; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services: Greenfield Baptist Church, Tuesday, 2:00 pm, Sept. 22, 2020, Greenfield, OK

Officiating: Bro. Tom Wood and Mr. Colten Hightower
