Margaret Arlene (Daugherty) Lowe was born to Richard and Mary Margaret (Mamie) Daugherty on May 8, 1926. Margaret was the sixth of six children born to this union. Margaret grew up in Greenfield, OK graduating from Greenfield High School as Valedictorian at the age of 16. Margaret married James (Jim) Lowe on July

Margaret married James (Jim) Lowe on July 22, 1944. Together, they made a home on the farm SE of Watonga. They farmed the land & raised their two children there until they later moved into town.

Margaret held many jobs throughout life. However, she spent the most time as a Teacher’s Assistant at Watonga Jr. High School. There, she enjoyed working with children with special needs. She retired from there in the early ‘90s. Margaret and Jim loved their family. Very few times did they ever miss a sporting event, or other activity, that their children or grandchildren were involved in, no matter the time or distance.

Margaret enjoyed working in her yard & flower gardens. She spent many, many hours and was very picky to make them both immaculate. Margaret was well known for her cooking. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She was well known for her Italian Cream Cakes that she baked and gave to people she loved. But, she was probably best known for her Christmas candy. She made hundreds and hundreds of platters of various homemade candies every Christmas for many, many years.

Margaret was very thankful to be able to move to the Mustang/Yukon area in 2000, after Jim retired to be near their family. Preceding Margaret in death are her parents,
