In Loving Memory...

Patrick Harold Mahoney, aka “Pete Moss” and “Muc” of Muc, Muc, Muc and Muc, among many other playful pseudonyms, was born “a simple man” (as he would put it) on January 17, 1951 to John Mahoney and Virginia Mahoney née Kirkhuff. He passed away on July 6, 2023 in Shawnee, OK at the age of 72. Dad was a natural people person and entertainer, winning the local twist contest on the Scene and being voted most popular upon graduating from Geary High School in 1969. Pat graduated from Southwestern State College in 1973 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and started his career in Wichita, KS, as a salesman for Boyle Midway. In 1979, Pat returned home to buy out his dad’s partner in M&M Gas Co. and partner with his father in Mahoney Oil Co. He spent the rest of his life in Geary, because “when you live in paradise, why would you ever leave.” He could name any car on the road and loved the Oklahoma Sooners, passions which he left to his son. He proved to be a man of steel but couldn’t overcome all that was thrown his way after a fall in January. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother, Mike Mahoney, and his grandson, Conrad James Mahoney. He is survived by DeAnn Mahoney, whom he married on August 15, 1986 in Montego Bay, Jamaica, his son and daughter-in-law, J.P. and Schaller Mahoney, sisters Patty Maib (Billy) and Melody Mahoney (Joe Penrod), sister-in-law, Laneè Mahoney, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

His service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Geary, Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10 A.M. Please send fond memories, pictures and videos to irreplaceablepat@ gmail.com.
