On January 13, 2022, Richard Herbert Edsall went to be with his Heavenly Father. Richard died peacefully in his sleep.

Richard was born in Watonga, Oklahoma on July 6, 1934, to Herbert and Esther Edsall, being raised on the family farm north of Watonga. He attended Oklahoma State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Education. He also met his beautiful wife, Barbara "Joann" Haynes, and they married on July 31, 1955. After college, he joined the United States Army serving at the rank of Lieutenant at Ft. Leonard Wood in the Missouri Ozarks. He started teaching in Cashion, Oklahoma where he taught Vocational Agriculture. He went on to further his education and attended Ohio State University where he received his doctorate degree in Vocational Education. He then moved his family to Englewood, Colorado, where he worked for the State of Colorado Department of Education, helping to develop many programs for Trade Schools and Vocational Schools, many of which are still being utilized today.

In 2013 Richard and Joann moved back to the Family Farm where he enjoyed tending to his miniature horses and cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Hazel Ariola, Ruby Frey and Lillian Koppen and one brother; Robert Edsall.

Richard is survived by his wife, Joann (Haynes) Edsall; children, Cindy Sungaila (Parker, Colorado) Kathy Brown (Mustang, Oklahoma) Mary (Richard) Goheen (Greeley, Colorado) Nancy (Van) Coffey (Hermitage, Tennessee) and Rick (LeighAnne) Edsall, Jr. (Hitchcock Oklahoma); as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his sister, Lavon (Eldon) Eck (Enid, Oklahoma).
