Accident Injures Ames Woman

A Saturday evening accident sent an area woman to the hospital.

According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Saige Fielder, 19, of Ames, was headed north on U.S. 281 about two miles north of Chester in Major County.

Her 2002 Ford Ranger failed to navigate a curve at the intersection of 281 and N2290 Road. It exited the roadway right and rolled an unknown number of times, coming to a stop in the ditch on the east side of the highway. The driver was pinned in the vehicle and extricated by Dewey County Fire Rescue.

Fielder, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was transported via air ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in stable condition with hip and pelvis injuries.
