We had a nice couple from over by Tulsa come for a tour. He had done his research on T. B. Ferguson before coming to visit the home. It’s nice to see people interested in history. She is a retired teacher and he is interested in Geology so they were going to Red Rock Canyon after spending quite a while with me at the museum.

We are really excited of the progress being made on scraping the paint off the East side of the museum getting it ready to paint. The columns have been ordered for the front porch. Clay and Andy came from OKC and volunteer their time on Saturday. If anyone is interested in helping call the museum and we will let you know when Clay will be back. If you don’t want to work on the balcony the inside wood work needs scrapped and painted also.

Norma Karns donated a book with a leather cover by Longfellow and Louise Dunn, a book about Okla. Tim and Judy Curtin donated some old papers he had concerning the Fergusons and the museum. Thanks to all of you.

If you are interested in being a volunteer you could help with the electronic files by scanning the old papers and entering them on the computer. Like to travel, as a volunteer could help with fairs, festivals and conferences by staffing a booth. Do you like to network? You can help plan and market our events. How about living history; Interested in acting or pretending you are someone else; dress up as a historical character from the area of 1892 to 1940’s during the Cheese Festival or at Christmas.

We are still looking for a site director. Its 20 hours a week. Called the museum at 580-623-5069. Be sure and leave name and call back number as we don’t have caller ID or Louise at 580- 623-4826. Reminder of the Chicken Noodle Dinner April 23, 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Christian Church. It’s carry out or delivery only.
