Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. Things have been quiet this week at the museum. No visitors with the Thanksgiving holiday and Clay spent time with his family. It’s hard to believe it’s almost 2022.

We have a broach that Mrs. Ferguson gave to Mrs. D.P. Karns for Christmas one year. There’s no date written on the card so we don’t know what year. It has one larger red stone in the middle, possibly a garnet, and 10 smaller light red stones in various places. The broach shape reminds me of a man’s western belt buckle. There’s also a needlepoint purse. It looks like something that would have been used for formal dress. It has red and white roses with green leaves around the roses stitched on it and has a metal chain for the handle.

Miss Fleta Campbell used early day Watonga characters in the stories she wrote. The Choctaw Northern railroad was built to Geary 20 miles south of Watonga and citizens were wanting it built on to Watonga. This information was from the book Mrs. Ferguson wrote, They Carried the Torch.

The Ferguson Home will have a table at the Christmas Bazar next weekend. Stop by our table to see the different Christmas trees that are decorating the home and vote for your favorite. It’s $1.00 per vote and you can vote as often as you want.

Breakfast with Santa will be December 11, 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Christian Church. It’s dine in or carry out. You can get your picture taken with Santa while there.

Our hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. You can call the Museum at 580-623-5069 to schedule a special time to come if you need to come when we are not open.
