We have had at least 7 articles from the book of Daniel. I will only touch on Daniel 7 – 12. It has been used over the centuries to describe events that haven’t happened yet. However, critics of the book of Daniel choose to deny that Daniel 7 – 12 had to be written nearly 500 years after Daniel 16. They argue this because these chapters describe the future events concerning the kingdoms of that area in such detail that no one could have had any knowledge of them unless they had already occurred. These critics do not believe in the inspiration of the Scriptures. They do not believe that God can reveal history before it happens.
Now, we have “experts” trying to apply these prophecies to the times we are living in. Folks, “experts” have misapplied Daniel 712 since the time of Jesus to predict the last days. One must always remember what Jesus said in Matthew 24:42 – 44,”42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Notice that Jesus says that He will come when we are not expecting Him. He will come as a thief in the night. Thieves do not broadcast their victims before they strike. We must be ready to meet Jesus in judgment right now. We can’t afford to wait until someone’s predicted time. Are you ready for the judgment day?
