Greetings! I thought I would change my topic this week to something more relevant to all of us. This is about taking of the children in our care during this time of quarantine, lockdown, social isolation, or whatever you want to call it. My wife and I are both retired.

My wife and I are both retired. We were looking forward to doing so much together after winter was over. We had our 8 year old grandson come spend Spring Break with us March12. He should have been able to go home March 22.

However, he has been with us ever since, and it looks like we’ll have him until school resumes (whenever that will be).

Each of us with children in our care must always remember how blessed we are to have children. David writes in Psalm 127:3-5, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; ……..” Folks, no matter how this child came to be with you, you should count it as a privilege and a blessing.

Ẇith this blessing comes a great responsibility. Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Ephesians 6:4, “And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” Our God given responsibility is to train our children to prepare them to become self-sufficient God fearing adults. If we fail in doing this, we have failed as being the parents or guardians of these children, and we will have to answer for this in the judgment.

Have a great week. Spend quality time with your children. Count every minute with them as a blessing from God.
