SENIOR CENTER

NEWS

Hi, everybody! Well, it’s Sunday evening so I’m writing my news for you. I hope you had a good week. Ours was busy with three days of doctors and tests. John had a problem with one of his eyelids and had to have it stitched up again. He’s doing better now and is no longer black and blue.

Last week we received a donation from B.J. Webb. Thank you so much B.J., we really appreciate it.

Chub and Janet Edsall brought in okra from their garden and we thank them for thinking of us.

Yvonne Christensen donated in memory of Chris Bordelon, the Evick Family Trust and Earl and Janet Edsall donated in memory of Fred Lucas. Thank you all for your donations, they help a lot.

Now that the garage sale items are gone the quilters have got the quilt frame back up and ready to fill. I was told they will be working on a quilt for Velma Gould whenever they get it in. I’m sure they will be ready to have one to work on, it’s been a while since they finished the last one.

Last Saturday night we had 29 people come in to play games and listen to music. Tom and David played for us and we all had a great time. We had good food including some homemade ice cream. You should have been there! We’ll meet again on September 9. Plan on coming to join us.

Leon Hamilton brought squash and cucumbers on Saturday night. Thanks, Leon.

Those delivering our meals last week were Pat, Sharon, Brenda and Curt, Janice and Vernon. We are so thankful for these folks who help us get meals out to people that need them. If you know someone who needs a warm meal delivered to them and they can’t get out to pick it up, tell them to call us. We would be glad to put them on our list for deliveries.

This is our menu for the next few days. Call before 10 a.m. to be delivered or before noon to pick up. Remember it’s only $7 for a full meal with salad, dessert and drink.

Well, I guess that’s all my news for this week. I hear COVID is making a comeback and we may have to start masking again. Take care of yourselves. Have a good week. ‘Til next week …
