Hi everybody! I hope this finds you all doing well and enjoying the nice weather we've been having. It won't be long now til spring. Maybe we'll get some rain then.
There were 28 that showed up for music and games on Saturday night. It's always a fun time. Wayne was the only one playing music as David called in sick. Hope you're better soon, David.
I was told they had 19 at exercise on Friday. That's wonderful! Come on and join in. They meet at 9 a.m. for one hour on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There's always room for more.
There were several ladies that stayed after biscuits and gravy to quilt for a while. Bob and Gene Matli came in on Tuesday to put a new quilt in the frames. It was pieced by Marsha Matli, I believe. It's really pretty. There's also a pretty one hanging on the wall, pieced and quilted by Gene Matli. It's a rooster print and very colorful. Anyway, quilters on Thursday were Gene Matli, Judy Curtin, Estalene Teply, Darlene Lewis, and Jennie Castleberry.
I wanted to remind you that we still accept aluminum cans at the Center. I know the city will take them now for recycling, but we will too. We also still can use your Best Choice labels. They bring in a little donation occasionally.
Friday, February 18th, the nurses will be at the center to do blood pressure and blood sugar tests. They'll be here from 10 a.m. to noon. If you need yours checked come by to see them. No appointment is needed and there's no charge for the tests.
Last week Pat Brewer, Mary Brown and Karen Dugger, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood, and Vernon Brickman delivered our meals on wheels. Thank you all very much.
Also, last week Mike Howard brought in a decorated cake to serve. Thank you Mike! Kathryn Diamond brought in Best Choice labels. Thank you Kathryn!
We received some memorial donations. They were from Tim and Carla Espy for Carol Wright, Kathryn Diamond for Tim Curtin, Mina Green, and Kenneth Franks, and Yvonne Christensen for Sue Grishaw and Pat Lake. We're very thankful for all these donations.
Here's our menu for the next few days. If you'd like a meal delivered or to order one to go, give us a call at 623- 4511. Call before 10 a.m. for a meal to be delivered.
