SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing good this week. It sounds like we may have to begin wearing our masks again when we go out in the public. They said on tonight's news that 50% of cases they are seeing are the new variant of Covid. It's not as serious as the original Covid but we need to protect ourselves from it as best we can.

Loretta Grove brought in Best Choice labels last week. Thank you, Loretta! A donation was received in memory of Mina Green.

Delores Trumbley renewed her membership. Thank you Delores! We're glad to have you with us.

Saturday, the 11th, we'll have music and games agan from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bring some kind of snack and join us for the fun.

Friday, the 17th, we'll have local nurses in to check blood pressures and blood sugars from 10:30 to noon. Come on in and get checked out. You don't need an appointment and you don't have to be a member of

Senior Citizens. Plan to come in that day.

Saturday, the 11th, at 7 a.m. the Masons will be cooking up pancakes, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, and more. Come on in and have breakfast with them and others. They ask for a donation only.

They will also be hosting a golf tournament at Roman Nose Golf Course on Saturday, the 18th. Contact Damon Jones or any Mason for information.

Last week we were closed on Monday for Memorial Day. Those that delivered Meals on Wheels the rest of the week were Sharon Barnes, Joe and Teresa Bryan, Janice Hood, and Vernon Brickman. Thanks for your help getting these meals delivered.

I must be getting old. I seem to be making more mistakes these days. When I looked at my column in last week's paper I noticed there was no second listings for Thursday and Friday, June 2nd and 3rd. I thought "Oh well, maybe they needed some space." But then when I went to the Center on Friday to pick up my news there was the problem. I always make a copy of my news before I turn it in and there was my third page of news. I had left it in the copier. Oh well!

Here is the menu for the next few days. Call us for meals to be delivered or to be picked up.

Thursday: Goulash

Friday: Steak Fingers

Monday: Chicken Strips

Tuesday: Breaded Pork Loin

Wednesday: Kiwanis meets at noon; We eat at 11

Tuesday (June 16): Liver and Onions. Biscuits and

Gravy at 8 a.m.

Friday (June 17): Fried Chicken

Mark your calendar for the days you want to eat with us so you don't miss out. We'd love to have you come in and eat with us.

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the rain we've been getting. It's been good for the gardens and yards. Take care of yourselves.

Til next week...
