Hi everybody! I hope you’ve all had a good week. Its sure been hot and I guess its gonna get hotter. I sure feel bad for all the fire fighters working that Hitchcock blaze. I pray that they will get it out soon and that they all stay safe while doing it. They have a really tough job. I received some sad news today. I’m sure a lot of you remember Tim Howard. He drove our bus for us, delivered meals on wheels with his wife, Cora, and helped out at the citizen center a lot. They moved to Arizona to help with his lung problems. He passed away last Thursday. I though you might want to know it. He was a nice guy. We got more bad news at the center last week. Our commercial size refrigerator went out and were told it cant be repaired. That will be a big expense for us to replace it. I’m not sure what the cost will be but I know it wont be cheap. It will probably take the money we got for the bus and maybe more. Ill let you know ow it all works out. Gene Matli has hung one of her quilts for everyone to see. It’s a real beauty. All the quilts she makes are always very pretty. Come on in and take a look at it. The quilters are still working on the one in the frame. They’ll be done with it soon. We received Best Choice labels from Margie Smith and Sharon Gates. Every little bit helps. Margie also donated cans. Thank you Margie. We appreciate it. We received some memorial donations. Yvonne Christensen sent a donation in memory of Kenneth Brewer and Mark Strack, and Maxine Strack made a donation in memory of Mark Strack. We are very thankful for these donations. Joe and Teresa Bryan renewed their memberships. Were glad to have you two as part of our group. We had our usual people in to help us with the delivery of meals on wheels last week. We are truly blessed to have those folks to help us get those meals delivered. On Friday, the 22nd, the nurses will be in to check blood pressures and blood sugars. Come in between 10:30 AM and noon. No appointment is needed and there’s no cost. Saturday night, the 23rd, we’ll be meeting again for music and games. Well meet from 6 to 9 PM. Come on in and join in the fun. Here’s our menu for the coming days. Got some really good meals on the list. Call us for meals on wheels before 10AM and before noon for meals to be picked up.
