Hi, everybody! Well, another week has passed. This week we are looking for some rain, at least that’s what the weathermen are saying. Last week was terrible with the tornadoes. One of our granddaughters was living in Cole. Her home was destroyed but thank God she is ok and all the folks she was living with were ok, too. But they lost everything, even their cars. They were living in a trailer house, and it was a total loss. We are so thankful she was not injured.
Last Friday the hospital ladies did blood pressure and sugar checks on 12 people. We really appreciate them doing this service for us. I wish more people would take advantage of it.
Last Thursday we had three ladies come in to work on the quilt. They have a new one in the frame. It was put together by Bob Matli’s mother. It is a really pretty design. Come by and see it and quilt on it if you’d like.
There is a beautiful new quilt hanging on the wall, too. It is so colorful. It was made by Mae Thompson. She did a wonderful job. Each square is a different pattern.
Saturday night we had 25 folks come in to play games and listen to good music. We had a great time. We won’t meet again for three weeks since April has five Saturdays. Mark your calendar for 6 p.m. May 13 and come join us.
Saturday, April 29, will be Bikes and BBQ. We thought we’d set up for their sweet tooth by serving pie and coffee beginning at 8 a.m. Come by and we’ll fix you up too. We’ll have lots of homemade pie to share.
The folks who delivered our meals on wheels last week were Teresa Bryan, Sharon Barnes, Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. WE sure appreciate them.
The Saturday night group made a donation, and Steve Poulson brought in cans for recycling. Smokey Rogers brought in Best Choice labels.
Yvonne Christensen, Basil and Danna Taylor and Clyde Miller each donated in memory of Wayne Maddux. A donation in memory of Mina Green was also received. Thanks to all of you.
Here is our menu for the next few days. Come in and eat with us or call for orders to go. Call before 10 a.m. for delivery or before noon for to go orders. We’ll get you fixed right up.
Thursday April 27 – Sausage and sauerkraut Friday – Roast beef Monday – Chili and soup Tuesday – Chicken strips Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.
Thursday May 4 – Sausage and sauerkraut Friday – Indian tacos And we still have biscuits and gravy on Thursday mornings beginning at 8 a.m. Come by and join us.
Well, that’s all my news for this week. I hope you have a good week ahead and I sure hope we get some good rain. Take care of yourselves. ‘Til next week …
