Hi, everybody! I hope you’ve all had a good week. Wasn’t the dust that blew through the other night awful? It was so thick we couldn’t even see the houses across the street. It made me think of the Dust Bowl days.
Well, they got all the leftover garage sale items boxed up but it’s not all been taken to other places. It’ll just take some time to get it all distributed. The sale went really well and we do appreciate all the donations, shoppers and volunteer workers.
Bill and Prissy Ice donated to the center. Thank you, Bill and Prissy. Joyce Rogers brought in Best Choice labels and cans. Thanks, Joyce.
Susan Shrader renewed her membership to the center. Thank you, Susan. We appreciate your volunteer time.
Twenty-seven people came in for music and games Saturday night. David Green and Tom Autrey provided the music. They play really well together.
Next Friday, August 18, the ladies from the hospital will be in to check blood pressure and blood sugar. They start around 10:30 a.m. and stay about an hour. Come in and get yours checked at no charge. No appointment is necessary and you don’t have to be a member of the center to get this done.
Delivering our meals for us last week were D’von Poulson and Susan Shrader, Sharon Barnes, Brenda and Curt Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. Thanks a bunch to all of you for helping us with this program.
Here is our menu for the next few days. Call before 10 a.m. for a meal delivery and by noon for a meal to go. If you want to eat in, come by around 11:30 a.m.
Thursday, Aug. 17 – Liver and onions Friday – Fried chicken Monday – Chicken strips Tuesday – BBQ pork Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 Thursday, Aug. 24 – BBQ ribs Friday – Roast beef, and it’s birthday dinner time! If you are a member and had a birthday in August, you get a free meal.
We still have biscuits and gravy on Thursday mornings by donation.
