SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi, everybody. I hope you’re all well. I’m doing good. In fact, I’m thinking about going back to exercise this week. I had a little problem come up a few weeks back and I haven’t been going. But I’m feeling better now and I think I’m ready to go back. I know I need to.

John is doing well and his eyes are almost completely healed. He really went through quite an ordeal but it’ll be worth it when it’s all fully healed.

Pat Brewer, Sharon Barnes, Brenda and Curt Stein and Janice Hood delivered our meals on wheels last week. Sharon actually delivered on two days. Thanks to all of you for your help.

We received donations from Joy Moan, Andy Barrett and Darrell Parker. Thank you all for helping us out. First Baptist Church sent us Best Choice bar codes. Thank you, too, for helping us with this project.

I guess they have the new quilt framed up because it was reported that Estalene Teply and Louise Cooper were in on Thursday to quilt.

I have a quilt that I started about 30 years ago. I made some mistakes on it so I just put it aside. Well, yesterday I decided I needed to get it out fix the problems and get it finished. So, yesterday and today I worked on the problem areas. I AM going to finish this quilt. It will be pretty when it’s finished, a star pattern in red, white and blue.

Saturday, Sept. 9, we’ll be meeting again for games and music. We start about 6 p.m. Bring a snack of some kind and come join in the fun, we have a good time.

The quilt guild will meet at the Center from 9 a.m.4 p.m for a sew in. Bring your project, notions and sewing machine and join them. If you have problems, they will be glad to help you.

The guild will have its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18 at the Center. They will be glad to have you join them.

The hospital ladies will be here at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15 to check blood pressure and blood sugar. Just walk in to get yours checked free. No appointment is needed.

This is our menu for the rest of this week and next week. Call before 10 a.m. to have a meal delivered and before noon to order one to go. The meals are only $7 for a meal that includes salad, dessert and a drink.
