Hi, everyone! Here it is Sunday evening again and time for me to write our news. I’m anxious to see if we really do get all the rain they have talked about all week.

I made another mistake in my news. I’m allowed on now and then. I failed to give the date for the quilt guild’s sew-in. It will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday September 16 at the Senior Center. You still have time to get your things ready.

Then the guild will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 18.

At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 15, the hospital ladies will be at the center to check blood pressure and sugar. They’ll be here about an hour. Make plans to come in and be checked out.

Some of us met Saturday night to play games and listen to music. And we enjoyed some good food. The music was provided by David Green and Tom Autrey. We had 26 people come in and enjoy the evening. We’ll do it again at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 23. Come and join us, you’ll be glad you did.

Louise Cooper, Estalene Teply and Judy Curtin came in to quilt last Thursday. They would be glad to have you join them on Thursday morning.

Janet Edsall brought in okra and peppers to share from her garden. Thank you, Janet.

I want to say a special thank you to Vernon Brickman for painting some on our outside walls. They really needed it and he recognized the need. Thank you very much, Vernon, for doing what you did. We really appreciate it.

We were closed one day last week, and the other days Brenda Stein, Sharon Barnes, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman delivered our meals on wheels. Thank you all for your help.

This is our menu for the next few days. Call before 10 a.m. to get a meal delivered or before noon to order a meal to go. Or come and eat with us, we eat about 11:30 a.m.

Thursday Sept. 14 – Liver and onions Friday – Fried chicken Monday – Chili and soup Tuesday – Sauerkraut and sausage Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday, Sept. 21— Spaghetti and meat sauce Friday – Ham and sweet potatoes And biscuits and gravy are still served on Thursday morning beginning at 8. We only ask for a donation. Call for a plate to go or come in and eat with us, it’s good !

Well, the ball game is on, so I’m gonna quit. I hope you have yourselves a great week, take care. ‘Til next week …
