SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi, everybody! Well, it’s trying to be winter already. We never seem to get to enjoy fall or spring. It’s either hot or cold. I don’t like cold weather. It might be all right if I didn’t have to get out occasionally.

Margie Smith and Sandra Maddux brought in Best Choice label codes. Thanks to you two ladies for helping us with this project.

B&W Ready Mix made donations in the memory of Louis Hood and Matt Null. Thank you, B&W, we appreciate your kindness.

Quilters last week were Estalene Teply and Judy Curtin. They could sure use some more quilters to help finish the one they are working on. If you like to quilt, they could sure use your help. They meet on Thursdays about 9 a.m.

Saturday night 22 people braved the cold to meet for games and music. We all had a good time. Mark your calendar for Nov. 11, when we will meet again.

Last week, meals were delivered two days by Sharon Barnes, and one day by Brenda Stein, Peggy Franks and Vernon Brickman. Thanks to all of you for your help with this program. If you need a meal delivered to you, please call us and we’ll get you set up. You must live within the city limits and not be able to pick it up yourself. Full meals, including salad, main dish, dessert and a drink are just $7. It’s always good, just give us a call. For a meal to go call before noon and for a meal delivered, call before 10 a.m.

This is our menu for the next few days: Thursday, Nov. 2 – Breaded chicken breast Friday – Indian tacos Monday – Taco salad Tuesday – Steak fingers Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday – Nov. 9 – Chicken strips Friday – Breaded chicken breasts And don’t forget biscuits and gravy at 8 a.m. on Thursdays. Come in and eat with us or pick it up to go. It’s always good.

I hope you are all well. This weather is going to make us all sick if we don’t watch it. Take care and stay warm and well. ‘Til next week …
