Hi, everybody! I hope you are all doing well and off to a great New Year. John was sick last week but is doing much better now. I have my days, some better than others. I just hope 2024 goes better than 2023. It’s going to be an interesting year, that’s for sure.

Janice Hood and Georgeanne Bordelon took down all the Christmas decorations last week, including the pretty tree. The room looks pretty bare right now, but I have a feeling Janice will come up with some kind of decoration to liven up the room. She does a great job.

All our regular quilters were back last week – Judy Curtin, Louise Cooper and Estalene Teply. It’s good to see everybody is getting back into their groove.

Which reminds me, exercise classes are meeting again. Come and get those holiday pounds off. The classes are at 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They will be glad to see you.

Larry and Naida Kerr renewed their memberships last week. We’re so glad to have them as part of our group. Thanks, Larry and Naida.

Judy Curtin donated paper for the copier. That’s always appreciated, thanks, Judy.

Several people made donations in memory of Larry Bernhardt. They came from Lee Nelson, Lisa Nelson and Robert Nelson families, Connie McBee and Frances Ice. Thanks to everyone for their gifts.

And here is a reminder that we will be meeting at 6 p.m. on January 13 for games and music. And, of course, food. Please bring some type of food to share with everyone and come in for some fun.

The Cheyenne Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 15. They share snacks before the meeting. If you’re interested, come in and see what they have to offer. You are bound to learn something about quilting.

Last week, Sharon Barnes, Janice Hood, Brenda and Curt Stein delivered meals for us. We were closed on Monday for New Year’s Day and the Steins delivered two days. Thank you to all for helping us with this important program.

Here's our menu for the next few days. If you need a meal delivered call us before 10 a.m. to let us know. If you want a meal to go, call us before noon.

Thursday, Jan. 11 – Chicken strips Friday – Roast pork Monday – Chili and vegetable soup Tuesday – Chili dogs and French fries Wednesday – Kiwanis meets at noon, we eat at 11 a.m.

Thursday, Jan. 18 – Liver and onions Friday – Fried chicken And biscuits and gravy at 8 a.m. each Thursday. Come eat with us or get one to go. It’s a donation meal.

I hope you all have a terrific week. It sounds like we might get a little snow come Friday or Saturday. I hope it doesn’t get too deep!

Anyway, that’s all my news for this week. Take care of yourselves, stay warm and safe. ‘Til next week …
