SENIOR CENTER NEWS

We had a beautiful snow last week, and very cold temperatures. We hope everyone stayed warm and cozy. There were several businesses and government closings, as well as schools. A big thanks goes to all of our city workers, EMTs, police and firefighters for their service no matter what the situation.

Someone asked me last week if you had to be a senior citizen to eat with us and the answer is NO! Everyone is welcome to eat with us Monday through Friday. Our menu for the next week is : Thursday, Jan. 16 Liver and onions Friday Fried chicken Monday Chili or soup Tuesday Chicken strips Wednesday Kiwanis Meets (Chicken fried steak) Thursday, Jan. 23 Chicken casserole Friday Ham and sweet potatoes Each Thursday morning from 8- 10 a.m., we have biscuits and gravy. Everyone is welcome.

Our deliveries were made last week by Susan Shrader, Connie George, Curt and Brenda Stein, Sharon Barnes and Janice Hood. We appreciate them braving the cold and snow. Call any morning before 10 a.m. for home delivery.

Due to the weather conditions, there was no quilting this past week. On Monday, Jan. 20, the Cheyenne Quilt Guild will meet from 4 -6 p.m., at the center, to sew. If you are a member, a sewer who needs help or want to learn quilting, please come join us.

Also, on January 20, the Presidential Inauguration will take place in Washington, D.C. It will be held on the west front of the U.S. Capitol. Donald Trump will be sworn in as President by Chief Justice John Roberts and J. D. Vance as Vice-President. This also is Martin Luther King Day, the third Monday in January.

On Saturday night, Jan. 11, we had Fun and Games at the Center and about 20 attended. Live music was provided by David Greene and Tom Autry. The next Saturday Night event is at 6 p.m. January 25 No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
