We had a beautiful snow last week, and very cold temperatures. We hope everyone stayed warm and cozy. There were several businesses and government closings, as well as schools. A big thanks goes to all of our city workers, EMTs, police and firefighters for their service no matter what the situation.

Then there was the time when the Stranger, Timberline and a mountain lion had a face-off.It might be easier to understand if you are acquainted – at least on paper – with Timberline. He was a tall, lanky brown and white paint horse with an evil temperament and one blue eye.

As we ended 2024 activities of the Friends of the Ferguson Home, we are planning for several activities in 2025. To recap 2024, we began our year with a membership drive and now have 80 members! In addition, more than 1,200 people are friends of the T.B. Ferguson Home Facebook page.

It’s funny how holidays change as one’s family changes. At this time of the year 20 years (or more) ago, I was up to my elbows in wrapping paper, decorations, shopping and cooking.But as the children matured and eventually went out on their own, things got quieter.
