The boy’s basketball team won the consolation bracket at the Coyle tournament, defeating Mulhall-Orlando. This in spite of coming off a two-game losing streak to Crescent, 48-55 on Jan. 17 and again at the Coyle tournament Jan. 19, 50-54.
The Eagles earned their slot in the consolation bracket by handing a loss to Oilton during the tournament, winning 64-42.
The Eagles play Okeene Tuesday, Mooreland on Friday, Oklahoma Bible Jan. 30 and Hobart Jan. 31. Okeene, Mooreland and Hobart are road games. Tip off is at 8 p.m. for each matchup.
Over on the Lady Eagle’s side of the scorecard, there have been plenty of Ws in recent days.
The Lady Eagles took down Crescent Jan. 17, 4939, Oilton at the Coyle tournament Jan. 19, 57-25 and Southwest Covenant also at the tournament, 45-25. The single loss was to cross county rival Okeene, with the Lady Whippets taking a win in the tournament Jan. 20, 44-53.
The Lady Eagles will play Mooreland Friday, Oklahoma Bible Monday and Hobart Tuesday. Like the boys, Mooreland and Hobart are road games, with Watonga hosting Oklahoma Bible.
