This week, Geary High School continued their senior shout outs on their official website and Facebook page for the Class of 2020 as Bison varsity wrestling seniors Landon Holt and Estephon Martinez answered questions prior to their upcoming graduation on Saturday afternoon.

Holt compiled a dominant 40-3 record during his senior season at Geary and capped off an illustrious high school wrestling career with an OSSAA Class 3A 182-pound individual state championship title in late February.

What are you doing to stay busy right now?

LH: Going outside and enjoying the day instead of being cooped up in a room!

What was your most memorable senior moment?

LH: Rocking a Nirvana shirt before my last high school wrestling match.

What was the funniest thing that happened during your senior year?

LH: Sneaking food out of the coaches’ hospitality room during the Geary Tournament with Gabe.

What was your greatest accomplishment in high school?

LH: Winning a state title

If you could do it all over again, what would you change in your high school career?

LH: There are things I wish I could have done better, but I wouldn’t change it for a thing!

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome in high school?

LH: Living with friends and sleeping on couches just so I could pursue my goals I set out for myself.

What advice would you give to future high school students?

LH: Don’t sacrifice your time just to appease others. Do what makes you happy!

What teacher/staff/coach (from any grade level) impacted you the most and why?

LH: Coach Kennedy, he played a big role in my success whether it be lifting or wrestling. He was a father figure in a way for me.

What are your plans after high school?

LH: To attend UCO for wrestling.

Who would you like to say "thank you" to?

LH: Thank you to everyone that pushed me, even on my bad days.

Is there anything else you'd like to add? LH: Pancakes are better than waffles.

Favorite meal?

LH: A steak from Cattleman’s.

If you could be any animal what would you choose?

LH: A hawk.

Your favorite superhero?

LH: The Flash.

Martinez was 10-17 in a very competitive 106-pound class and placed on the podium once as a senior in sixth at the 2019 Max Dippel wrestling tournament held at Weatherford High School back in December.

What does your life look like right now given the current situation?

EM: It’s terrible because I’m stuck in the house. I don’t like staying in the house.

What are you doing to stay busy right now?

EM: Work on the computer or outside.

What was your most memorable senior moment?

EM: Wrestling.

What was the funniest thing that happened during your senior year?

EM: When I pinned my kid!

What was your greatest accomplishment in high school?

EM: Getting 6th in wrestling.

If you could do it all over again, what would you change in your high school career?

EM: starting wrestling sooner.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome in high school?

EM: Trying to keep my calm.

What advice would you give to future high school students?

EM: Start wrestling now! Don’t do drugs!

What teacher/staff/coach (from any grade level) impacted you the most and why?

EM: Mrs. O’Nesky, Mrs. Ashlee, and Coach Mitchell because they helped me when I was upset and helped pick me up so I wouldn’t quit.

What are your plans after high school?

EM: Work!!!

Who would you like to say "thank you" to?

EM: Mrs. O, Mrs. Ashlee, Coach Mitchell, Coach Kennedy, and the entire wrestling team!

Favorite meal?

EM: Enchiladas.

If you could be any animal what would you choose?

EM: A tiger.

Your favorite superhero?

EM: The Hulk.
