The Geary Bison met an unusual situation Friday night in their game against Grandfield. A power outage in town caused the game to be called in the first half because the lights available weren’t sufficient to complete play.

The Herd had to migrate Saturday to Grandfield in Cherokee County near Tahlequah to play, because the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association -OSSAA for short – determined it would be unfair for Grandfield to have to travel two days in a row.

The road trip didn’t trip up the Bison, who wrapped up the Chargers 60-44. The Bison next play at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 against Mountain View -Gotebo at Mountain View.

The Geary squad it 4 and 4 on the season, while Mountain View is 4 and 3.

Canton Tigers lost a nailbiter to SW Covenant Friday at home, 52-54. They next play Oct. 22 against Okeene at 7 p.m. at home. The Canton team is carrying a 3-5 record for the season coming into the matchup with the Whippets, who are 4 and 4.
