New Teacher Profile - Abbi Billyeu
Abbi Billyeu will be a fourth grade math and science teacher at Geary this year. She is a first year teacher and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Billyeu decided to become a teacher so that she could be the safe person or teacher she needed in school when there wasn’t one anywhere else. This will be an exciting year for her because it is a new journey, switching from health care to education.
She writes that her favorite snack or dessert is either chips or strawberry brownies. Her dream vacation would be going to Hawaii. “I can’t wait for my first-ever class and all they will teach me,” she added.
New Teacher Profile - Jada Graybill
Jada Graybill will be teaching fifth grade reading and social studies at Geary this year. She is a first year teacher who said her dream vacation would be either Hawaii or Yellowstone National Park.
Graybill is a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University who said her go to snack is cheddar bites with ranch dressing from Sonic.
She decided to become a teacher because she wants to make an impact on her students’ future. Knowledge, she says, is priceless and she loves seeing students learn. This year will be exciting for her as she looks forward to beginning her career and meeting her students.
At home, there is a boxador dog named Loki and a cat named Bean.
New Teacher Profile - Heath Selcer
Meet Heath Selcer, the new agriculture teacher for Geary Public Schools. He has been an educator for 19 years and graduated from Central Oklahoma University.
His favorite snack is beef jerky and a dream vacation for Selcer would be a mountain retreat in Montana. He decided to become a teacher to enhance the lives of others.
Selcer is excited about the upcoming year because he is looking forward to new adventures and experiences.
At home, he has a mastiff named Merlin. And his hidden talent is whistling!
