Chisholm Trail Technology Center (CTTC) students take state champion titles at Business Professionals of America (BPA). Grady Storm (homeschool) of Dover, and Brooke Barton (adult) of Kingfisher, both brought home state titles in Desktop Publishing and Spreadsheets, respectively. Storm and Barton are a part of the Multimedia Design and Business Technology program taught by Sarah Edsall. The contests took place during the BPA State Leadership Conference in Tulsa, Okla., on March 3-4, 2026, where thousands of members gathered to compete, network and develop their leadership skills.
The contests are designed to simulate real-world work scenarios. For example, a design brief for a logo, flyer and business card was given, and students have 90 minutes to deliver final designs, created from scratch in Adobe Creative Suite. Similarly, the spreadsheets contest challenges students to organize data into tables, properly deploy formulas and export accurate information.
“I’m thankful for the honor and excited to put it on my resume,” said Barton. “I hope a future employer will see that and know I have learned a lot at CTTC.”
Storm and Barton will represent Oklahoma at BPA Nationals in Nashville, TN, on May 8. Other notable mentions include Yohana Reza (Watonga High School): 2 nd place Desktop Publishing and 8 th place Graphic Design promotion. Hayleigh Tuttle (Kingfisher High School): 5 th place Desktop Publishing and 6 th place Graphic Design Promotion. Erik Rojo of KHS also participated in the conference.
Beyond the competition, students heard from a keynote leadership speaker and toured the Oklahoma Aquarium as a reward for their hard work.
Business Professionals of America is a national organization that prepares students for real-world careers, by encouraging industry certifications and developing leadership skills.
