Eagles Out Hit Terriers, Miss W

Even though the Watonga Eagles collected four hits to Thomas-Fay-Custer's three, they still fell on Monday, 8-2. Tyshon Wilson led Watonga with two hits. The Eagles were the first to get on the board in the first when a wild pitch scored one run.

Ward grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Thomas-Fay-Custer tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. Thomas-Fay-Custer captured the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the third after Watonga committed an error, Ward doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Fymine earned the win for Thomas-Fay-Custer. The hurler surrendered two hits and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking three.

KJ Estep took the loss for Watonga. The starter went four innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out nine and walking six.

Bennett led things off on the mound for Thomas-Fay-Custer. The starter gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking three.

Wade Manke led Watonga with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.

The Eagles ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game. Ward, Oakes, and Willis each collected one hit for Thomas.

Ward led the Terriers with two runs batted in. Ward went 1-for-4 on the day. Thomas-Fay-Custer had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.

Fymine and Oakes led the team with two bases on balls each. Oakes stole three bases. Thomas-Fay-Custer stole eight bases in the game. Next up for the Watonga Varsity Eagles is a game Tuesday against Carnegie.
